Grease and flour 3-9 inch round pans. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. In a small saucepan heat water and 4 ounces chocolate until melted it. Remove from heat and let cool. Pour into 3-9 cm pans bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pan, then turn out onto a wire rack. For the filling: In a saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar, condensed milk, butter 1/2 cup and 3 egg yolks. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat. Stir in coconut, pecans and vanilla. To cool to a sufficient thickness to spread. Distributed filling between the layers and on the top of the cake.
