So I want to make yet another version of chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes. My dilemma? Australia doesn’t seem to sell mini chocolate chips. And you absolutely need mini choc chips if you’re making chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes; regular-sized chips are just too big for this particular purpose.
And so I set to the task of making my own mini chocolate chips. It isn’t difficult at all. Melt some chocolate. Cool it until it is thick and pipeable. Spoon it into a ziploc bag, snip off a tiny piece from the corner of the bag and pipe away.
Easy.

Brown sugar cupcakes, filled with raw (eggless) cookie dough, frosted with brown sugar frosting and topped with a (store-bought) mini choc chip cookie.
Oh, and all the mini chocolate chips? They’re homemade. Because Australia doesn’t sell mini chocolate chips.
